Tejas Borja presents the new Advanced Roofing System: BorjaSAT
System BorjaSAT was created to respond to the need for new sloping roof solutions which meet the technical and energy efficiency requirements of today’s construction industry. A waterproof breathable membrane is installed onto a continuous and level supporting structure, made either of concrete or wood, and the joins are sealed using roofing adhesive tape. If the structure has already been waterproofed using another method (asphalt sheeting, EPDM, PVC, etc.) this first step is unnecessary.
The BorjaSAT insulation panels are positioned over the waterproofing. The alignment of the panels depends on the batten spacing required for the tiles which are going to be installed over them. As indicated on the panels, if they are positioned with the wide side of the panel parallel to the eaves line they can be used for tiles with a 37-cm batten spacing; if the panels are positioned with the narrow side parallel to the eaves line they can be used for tiles with a 39.5-cm batten spacing.
BorjaSAT panels are made entirely from Neopor® Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), regarded as one of the best insulation materials which has numerous applications in construction.
Neopor® provides high levels of thermal insulation because it contains small particles of graphite which absorb or reflect infrared radiation, making it 20% more energy efficient than other EPS products.
The BorjaSAT insulation panel is manufactured in three thicknesses: 60, 100 and 140 mm. It has a thermal conductivity coefficient of λ=0,031 W/m·K to meet the thermal insulation requirements of all projects. When they are installed on the exterior of the roof structure they form a continuous layer of insulation without thermal bridges.
The panels must always be installed onto a continuous supporting structure and over a waterproof membranee, to ensure the roof is completely watertight in the event of condensation or the accidental breakage of roof tiles.

On 8th of July , the award ceremony for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019 took place in Essen, which recognizes every year the best products and designs in the world.
Tejas Borja, receives the RedDot Product Design 2019 Award for the Flat-5XL BorjaJET flat roof tile; a design and innovation recognition under criteria such as the level of innovation, functionality, formal quality, longevity and ergonomics.
Several members of the Tejas Borja team traveled to the German capital to collect the prestigious Red Dot Award during Designers Night, held at the RedDot Design Museum located in the Zollverein industrial estate, a world heritage site. The director of R + D + i, Alberto Puerta, together with, Miguel Usach from technical department and Andrés Ferrando, part of the export department, attended the important event.
The post-ceremony party provided the opportunity to celebrate and have contact with the rest of the winners. In addition, the guests had an exclusive advance of three special exhibitions, before their official opening on July 12, and were able to try some of the award-winning products and appreciate their excellent design quality.
Also, on Tuesday morning, Mr. Thomas Kufen, Mayor of Essen, organized a reception at the City Hall to congratulate our team and the rest of the winners for their innovative products.
The Flat-5XL BorjaJET roof tile (Nepal Orange) is exhibited at the Red Dot Museum of Essen, in the exhibition of the winners of Design in the discipline of “Materials and surfaces”. As well, it is present in the catalog of products awarded with the Red Dot 2019.

One more year, the leading company in Spain in the manufacture of ceramic roof tiles and roofing systems has chosen CEVISAMA as one of its major international exhibition platforms. A successful edition, even better than 2018, thanks to the recognition and number of visits received.
After the recent investments made in its facilities in Lliria, the company has reinforced its leadership thanks to the continuous improvement in technology and design, which has resulted in the BorjaJET range of ceramic roof tiles with digital inkjet decoration, unique in the world and praised by architects and designers at an international level.

This year CEVISAMA was specially addressed to prescription, focusing the offer to a visitor profile linked to the Contract channel (architects, interior designers, and project promoters). For this purpose, a new pavilion was carefully set, which connected by a tunnel led visitors to the latest trends in materials and products for projects. The biggest Bio Passive wood hotel in Spain is being built
The first Bio Passive building made from Kuusamo wood in Spain will be in Asturias
In the small asturian village of Cuerres, that belongs to the council of Ribadesella, there has been constructed the bio passive ‘Reposo del Andayón’ (‘Rest of the Andayón’), a country hotel that also has a part of it that works like a hostel for pilgrims because the village is located on the route that covers the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) through the Cantabrian coast from Irún. The complex complements itself with a little farm and an ecological orchard, to obtain daily products for guests and the team.
The peculiarity of this new construction, with more than 800 square meters of surface, is that it has been executed under the guidelines of the bio passive architecture, with constructive sustainability criteria, free of poisonous or pollutant substances, it recovers and in harmony with the natural environment that surrounds it. Also, this new project has been designed like one of the bigger buildings of wooden structure of the whole Spain.
Thanks to several ecological systems for production of energy, like mills to transform the force of the wind into energy or cauldrons of biomass the building will not be using fossil fuels like gas or diesel.
The structural material used has been the Finnish red pine, which also has been used in the revetments and isolations in different variants and formats. The finished exterior has been made off by a revoke of lime finished in silicate, to contribute resistance and waterproofing, but allowing the building to perspire.
For the covering of this bio passive building they have used ceramic roof tiles, because these are a 100% recyclable material, since they are made of clay. The roof tiles chosen for this project had been the interlocking TB-10 tiles in Fosca finishing from Tejas Borja.
We in our company are very satisfied that the promoters had choose our roof tiles for this type of pioneering projects in our country, highly efficient and healthy, that contribute to taking care of the environment and are constructed in harmony with the environment that surrounds them.
The owner of the property and developer of the project is a Franco-Belgian woman called Katrine Duerinckx, pilgrim and ‘Camino de Santiago’ lover, which, after residing 30 years in Murcia (Spain), decided to begin this new adventure in Asturias.

EXTREM-KER® is the latest novelty in ceramic tiles, characterized by being absolutely flat and technologically perfect.
